‘Predator: Badlands’ Is Now the Franchise’s Highest Grossing Movie at the U.S. Box Office

In its second weekend of release, Dan Trachtenberg’s Predator: Badlands came in third place on the domestic box office chart with another $13 million made across the weekend, and that has allowed the acclaimed horror adventure to hit an impressive franchise milestone.

With a domestic haul of $66.3 million as of this morning, Predator: Badlands is now the highest grossing installment in the solo Predator franchise at the domestic box office.

It hasn’t yet hit the $80.2 million domestic total of 2004’s franchise mashup Alien vs. Predator, mind you, but Badlands is nipping at its heels as it heads into its third weekend.

Here are the domestic totals of all solo Predator movies up to this point, keeping in mind that these box office numbers from decades past have not been adjusted for inflation…

  • Predator (1987) – $59.7 million
  • Predator 2 (1990) – $30.6 million
  • Predators (2010) – $52 million
  • The Predator (2018) – $51 million
  • Prey (2022) – Not released in theaters
  • Predator: Killer of Killers (2025) – Not released in theaters
  • Predator: Badlands (2025) – $66.3 million

Worldwide, the highest grossing solo Predator movie is The Predator with $160.5 million, with Badlands boasting a worldwide total of $136.3 million. Alien vs. Predator beats them both with $177.4 million worldwide, technically making it the franchise’s highest grossing installment.

Of note, Predator: Badlands had the highest first weekend in the long history of the Predator franchise, even topping the opening weekend (unadjusted for inflation) of AvP.

The catch? Badlands also has the highest production budget in the Predator franchise’s history, armed with a reported $105 million price tag. Stay tuned for more updates.

Predator: Badlands is now playing exclusively in movie theaters nationwide in IMAX, Dolby Cinema, RealD 3D, Cinemark XD, 4DX, ScreenX, and premium screens everywhere.
