Building off of their gameplay footage from this past summer, Bandai Namco and developer Rebel Wolves have released a new 28-minute gameplay overview video for The Blood of Dawnwalker. Narrated by Rebel Wolves writer Ariana Siarkiewicz, the video follows game protagonist Coen on an investigation around Svartrau Cathedral, showcasing the title’s dynamic fights against humans and monsters, as well as delving into some of the in-game lore.
Created by former CD Projekt RED developers, The Blood of Dawnwalker takes place in 14th-century Europe in Vale Sangora, a forgotten corner of the Carpthian Mountains. Bloody conflicts sweep the lands, and the Black Death comes for the survivors. Vampires seize the opportunity to walk out of the shadows and claim what they’ve been denied for centuries: freedom, and the power that comes with it. Other creatures of the night follow their lead. Legends turn into reality, and history as we know it will never be the same.
You play as Coen, a young man turned into a Dawnwalker. Human by day, vampire by night, Coen will have to use this power to rescue his family, captured by the vampiric feudal lords who have taken over Vale Sangora. You must choose to fight for your humanity or embrace the cursed powers to save your family. Whatever your choice, the question stands: is your soul worth the lives of those you love?
The Blood of Dawnwalker is in development for a 2026 release on Steam, Xbox Series and PlayStation 5.
