Director Paul Feig is helming an adaptation of the bestselling novel The Housemaid, and the new trailer leans into holiday madness as it wishes you a “Merry Little MindF*ck.”
Based on Freida McFadden‘s global best-selling novel, The Housemaid releases in theaters on December 19, 2025.
Sydney Sweeney, Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar, and Michele Morrone star.
In the film, “Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sydney Sweeney) accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.”
“The Boys“ scribe Rebecca Sonnenshine adapts McFadden’s novel for the screen.
Feig himself calls the film a “faithful interpretation… but with a good number of added surprises along the way.“ The filmmaker adds, “The Housemaid is pure entertainment – a sexy and surprising rollercoaster ride of a movie that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. This movie is the kind of insane fun that you’ll want to watch over and over this holiday season.”
