Nicole Kidman Joins Osgood Perkins’ ‘The Young People’

Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman has joined the cast of The Young People from writer-director Osgood Perkins.

Lola Tung and Nico Parker lead the ensemble, which also includes Brendan Hines, Cush Jumbo, Heather Graham, Johnny Knoxville, Lexi Minetree, Lily Collias, and Tatiana Maslany.

Production is currently underway in Vancouver for a 2026 theatrical release via Neon.

Plot details are under wraps, but rumors suggest the film centers on a couple of school friends, one of whom starts to develop disturbing behavior. There is also speculation that it’s a cosmic horror movie.

Neon, which has a first-look deal with Perkins, is co-financing with Lyrical Media. Perkins is producing with his partner Chris Ferguson for Phobos and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones for Range.

The Young People will be Perkins’ fourth film with Neon in three years, following Longlegs, The Monkey, and Keeper, which opens this weekend.
