Back in September, Detective Conan (released as Case Closed in the US) announced the production of a prequel special to celebrate the series's 30th anniversary. Today, the key visual for this hour-long "Episode Zero" was confirmed to premiere on January 3, 2026 . The long-running anime, based on the similarly long-running manga by Gosho Aoyama, will revisit a time before Conan's transformation. Based on the title, many are theorizing that this will be a remake of the aquarium mystery depicted in chapters 882-884 of the manga and episodes 772-773 of the anime.
