Tony Wash Promoted to Screambox Director of Programming & Original Productions With Fresh Slate Coming

Bloody Disgusting and Cineverse are excited to announce that Tony Wash, who previously served as Channel Manager for our Screambox streaming service, has been promoted to Director of Programming and Original Productions for the all-horror streaming service.

The news was first reported by Variety this afternoon.

Tony and his production company Scotchworthy Productions are behind the popular Screambox original series “Bloody Bites,” which gives independent horror filmmakers an avenue to worldwide exposure through the #1 source for online horror and is consistently the top-performing title on Screambox TV.

With four features and a number of shorts, including the 2014 SXSW Midnight favorite The Muck, under his belt, Tony Wash looks forward to utilizing his love of horror and his passion for filmmaking to help bolster Screambox’s curation.

The upcoming Screambox slate includes a new season of “Bloody Bites” along with an original horror conversation series hosted by Ted Raimi, with Tony also running a short film competition that’s designed to celebrate 25 years of the Bloody Disgusting brand. Submissions to help bring our mascot Buzzkill to the screen are open now, and you can learn more here.

We’re excited to have Tony Wash at the helm as we enter a bold new era of original horror for Screambox,” Tom Owen, the VP of network strategy at Cineverse, said in a statement. “The slate he’s guiding has something to terrify and delight every horror fan, and will help shape Screambox into a truly distinctive, Bloody Disgusting-driven experience.“

“As a lifelong horror fan, my role is to create a curated experience for horror fans with Screambox’s collection of exciting exclusives and originals, as well as bringing together awesome catalog titles from decades past for a one-stop shop of all things scary,” Wash said. “I will be tapping into my extensive network of independent filmmakers to acquire the freshest horror stories out there, and will be overseeing the production of various Screambox Originals to help boost the platform’s slate of content only available on Screambox.”
