When a Flesher show lands on the night of a full moon, a werewolf ravages the venue in the band’s new music video for “Inciting Mutilation,” premiering below.
For fans of Cannibal Corpse, Death, and Bolt Thrower, the Indianapolis-based death metal act consists of Paul Breece on vocals and guitar, David Jaggar on bass, and Dustin Boltjes on drums and additional vocals.
“All of our songs are inspired by ’80s and ’90s horror, with ‘Inciting Mutilation’ being no exception,” Breece tells Bloody Disgusting. “We like to take the theme or concept of a movie and write a song based on that, but still leaving room for someone’s own interpretation.”
Breece continues, “This song pays homage to classics like American Werewolf in London, The Howling, and Silver Bullet. It’s not specifically about one, but more about just being a werewolf and the hunger that we’ve seen in all of these classic movies we love.”
The video is a homegrown project, with Breece devising the concept, Boltjes writing and directing, and Jaggar filming, producing, and editing. It features practical effects by Deryk Wehrley (Zombieland: Double Tap), Jess Serban, and James Dunn.
“There was an absolutely ridiculous amount of blood and guts covering the entire bar, which was awesome, so we actually decided to let all the people that showed up and participated take some fake guts home,” Breece adds. “We had a blast making this video and we hope everyone has as much fun watching it as we did making it.”
The track comes from the band’s forthcoming EP, Gore on Gore. Due out November 21, it’s available to pre-order via Maggot Stomp.
