The ongoing TV anime based on the dark fantasy manga Chained Soldier revealed new information today for the cast members and official opening theme song performer that will be joining the series for its upcoming second season, which will broadcast in Japan beginning on January 8, 2026. The new cast members include: Konomi Tatara voiced by Kana Ichinose Mira Kamiunten voiced by Fairouz Ai Bell Tsukiyono voiced by Manaka Iwami Yakumo Ezo voiced by Fuka Izumi Fubuki Azuma voiced by Yukana Akari Kito, who provides the voice of Kyouka Uzen, performs the new opening theme song for the series, which is entitled “Hikari yo, Boku Ni.” (“Light, Be With Me.”). Shueisha serializes the original Chained Soldier manga in their Shonen Jump+ magazine. Takahiro writes and Yohei Takamura illustrates the series, with 19 volumes released in Japan to date. Yen Press also publishes an English language version. Masafumi Tamura directs season 2 of the Chained Soldier anime at animation studios Passion and Hayabusa Film, with series composition by Yasuhiro Nakanishi, character designs by Keiya Nakano and music by KOHTA YAMAMOTO. Junji Nishimura acted as chief director for the series alongside director Goro Kuji for the first season at studio Seven Arcs, which aired from January to March 2024.
