Just in time for Halloween, the TV anime based on the occult horror manga Dark Gathering revealed today that a second season for the series is in-production along with a new piece of teaser art and confirmation on key members of the staff and cast. The release date for the new season has not yet been revealed at the time of this reporting. The main cast includes: Yayoi Hozuki voiced by Yu Sasahara Keitaro Gentoga voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki Eiko Hozuki voiced by Kana Hanazawa Ai Kamiyo voiced by Rina Kawaguchi Since March 2019, Shueisha has serialized the original Dark Gathering manga by Kenichi Kondo in their Jump Square manga magazine, and a total of 19 collected volumes have been published in Japan to date. Viz Media also publishes an English language version of the series. HIDIVE streams the first season of Dark Gathering and describes the story: After a devastating encounter with a restless spirit, ghost-fearing psychic Keitaro Gentoga became a shut-in to avoid additional spectral catastrophes. But no man is a haunted island, and Keitaro eventually reintegrates with society by getting a part-time job as a tutor to the child prodigy Yayoi Houzuki. Yayoi isn’t just an academic genius, though. She’s a talented psychic medium hell-bent on finding the malevolent spirit behind her mother’s disappearance, and she’s gravely determined to drag Keitaro into her terrifying world of grotesque supernatural phenomenon.
