‘Dance of the Dead’ Director to Helm Halloween Home Invasion ‘The Heretiks’ from ‘Hellraiser’ Remake Writers

Dance of the Dead and Siren director Gregg Bishop will next helm The Heretiks from writers Ben Collins & Luke Piotrowski (Hellraiser 2022, The Night House).

Deadline reports that Bleiberg Entertainment (The Iceman, Dance of the Dead) is backing the supernatural home invasion horror-thriller set on Halloween.

The film follows a disaffected teenage girl who must team up with a renegade witch to protect her little sister from a murderous coven hellbent on using her as a human sacrifice in an apocalyptic ritual on Halloween night.

Ehud & Ariel Bleiberg are producing through their namesake banner, along with Bishop, Brad Miska (Terrifier 2), and Chris White (The Backrooms).

Filming is slated to start in early 2026 in Bishop’s hometown of Atlanta, GA. Casting discussions are underway.

“We’ve wanted to work with Gregg again for a long time now,” said Ariel Bleiberg. “Things finally aligned when he showed us The Heretiks and his brilliant vision for bringing it to life. We are so excited to be part of this crazy and unique project that only an out-of-the-box thinking artist like Gregg Bishop can pull off.”

He added, “We started brainstorming this movie with our friend Gregg back several years ago as a love letter to the sort of imaginative, ensemble horror films we all grew up with. It’s a surreal thrill to finally be unleashing him to make it. We just know he’s going to deliver something fun and frightening, nostalgic and new.”

Bleiberg will be selling the project ahead of the upcoming American Film Market in Los Angeles.
