During a talk show at Sakai City today, the next anime from the Kaiju Decode project, a co-production between Tsuburaya Productions and Toei Animation, was officially unveiled as the Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara anime film. A visual for the film was released alongside the reveal of the two lead voice actors who will be voicing Maru and Coco, who is depicted on the visual by designer Masatsugu Saito. The project's official website writes, "Under the theme of 'A Tale of Kaiju and A Girl,' this project aims to produce high-quality animation that will be accepted by people of all ages overseas while utilizing the strengths of Japanese animation and new technology." Toei Animation's Kouichi Noguchi ( Expelled from Paradise , Kado: The Right Answer ) and Tsuburaya's Masahiro Onda ( Ultraman Zero The Movie , SSSS.GRIDMAN ) serve as co-producers at their respective companies. Kaiju Decode: The Ring of Aidara ’s script is written by sci-fi novelist Katsuie Shibata with monster designs from Masayuki Gotoh at Tsuburaya, Maru’s character design by Sei Nakashima and Coco’s character design by Masatsugu Saito. Sakai Film Festival, the city in which the story is set, describes the film as such: A youth named Maru lives in the peaceful City, a society freed from the restrictions of the body, mind, space, and time. In contrast, a girl named Coco, a member of the Aidara Tribe, resides in the Zone, a treacherous area also inhabited by incredible beasts.
