Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Becomes the Highest-Grossing International Film in North America

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has claimed another record in its historic box office run as Sony Pictures Entertainment announced on Monday that the first Infinity Castle has become the highest-grossing international film at the North American box office, surpassing the 2000 film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon . Internationally, Infinity Castle has also become the year's number one comic book adaptation. According to Sony Pictures Entertainment, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle made $2.25 million in North America theaters over its fifth weekend and ranked seventh in the box office rankings. Overall, the first Infinity Castle movie has brought in US$128.637 million in the United States and Canada, making it the highest-grossing international film ever in the domestic marketplace, dethroning the 25-year reign of Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. The studio reported in other Crunchyroll/Sony Pictures Entertainment regions where Infinity Castle continues to play that Mexico has brought in US$17.9 million, with France at US$16.8 million, Germany at US$15.2 million, India at US$9.5 million, the United Kingdom at US$9.2 million, Brazil at US$8.9 million, Spain at US$7.4 million, Indonesia at US$7.3 million, Thailand at US$7.1 million and Malaysia at US$6.8 million. Over in Japan, Infinity Castle has grossed a total of 36.41 billion yen (US$245.81 million) with 25.11 million tickets sold, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha . Another 4.34 billion yen is needed to overtake Mugen Train in the region to become the highest-grossing of all-time in Japan . In South Korea, KOBIS reported that Infinity Castle is the highest-grossing film of the year with US$41.03 million, overtaking both F1 and My Daughter is a Zombie for the top spot. However, South Korea bases its yearly chart on admissions, where Infinity Castle trails My Daughter is a Zombie by 200,000 tickets, with 5.41 million tickets sold compared to 5.62 million respectively.  RELATED: Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle Passes $600 Million Worldwide Sony Pictures Entertainment reported that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle has brought in US$648 million worldwide, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of 2025 and the best-performing movie based on a comic book, beating Superman and holding DC back from having a number one comic book movie since 2008. Mugen Train also took this spot in 2020, where the second-highest-grossing film based on a comic book was DC’s Birds of Prey .  Haruo Sotozaki directs  Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba  at anime studio ufotable. Akira Matsushima is the Chief Animation Director and Character Designer, and the music is by Yuki Kajiura and Go Shiina. The movie opened in Japan on July 18 and  started its run in the United States and Canada on September 12 .
