While developer MANGLEDmaw Games is still working away at getting Amanda the Adventurer 3 out the door for later this year, publisher DreadXP has announced that the previous entry in the series, Amanda the Adventurer 2, will finally be making its way to PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch this Thursday, October 16.
Additionally, the launch introduces new quality of life updates, optimization, and controller support utilizing a virtual keyboard to both the console and PC versions of the game. This means even more fans can jump into the dark horror puzzler series.
Initially launching on Steam last year, Amanda the Adventurer 2 follows Riley Park, who travels to the Kensdale Public Library after uncovering what was contained on the mysterious VHS tapes in their Aunt Kate’s attic. When they arrive, a mysterious masked figure, who claims to have known their Aunt Kate before she died, greets them. The strange figure enlists Riley’s help to find something Aunt Kate had left in the library and warns them of a powerful entity that seems to be drawn to the tapes.
New to Amanda The Adventurer 2 will be greater input when talking directly to Amanda, which will have a greater effect on her world. You will also not be able to head out and explore the environment to find what Amanda asks of you. Or, you could just refuse to oblige, and witness the results. You’re also not at your Aunt Kate’s any longer, with the Kensdale Public Library holding more secrets and lore for you to discover.
Meanwhile, for Steam users, you can check out the demo for Amanda The Adventurer 3.
