Following its U.S. premiere at New York Comic Con last Friday, the anime film adaptation of Hiroshi Sakurazaka's All You Need Is Kill light novel today unveiled a breathtaking new main trailer and visual, along with a January 9, 2026 screening date for ten theaters across Japan. The film is currently slated to screen at Animation is Film Festival, Bucheon International Animation Film Festival, Leeds International Film Festiva, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival, San Sebastian Fantasy Film Festival and Scotland Loves Animation Festival. As of reporting, a wide global release date is yet to be confirmed. All You Need Is Kill Main Trailer All You Need Is Kill Main Visual Voicing the female lead Rita for the anime film is Japanese actress Ai Mikami in her first voice acting role. Mikami recently played Yukina in the live-action Yu Yu Hakusho series and was the lead in the Undead Lovers film. The male lead Keiji is voiced by Natsuki Hanae, who is well-known for voicing Tanjiro Kamedo in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Okarun in DAN DA DAN . In 2014, the novel was adapted into manga by Moriarty the Patriot ’s Ryosuke Takeuchi and Death Note ’s Takeshi Obata. In the same year, a Hollywood live-action adaptation was released under the name Edge of Tomorrow, starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt. The anime film is directed by Kenichiro Akimoto (unit director on Fortune Favors Lady Nikuko ) at STUDIO 4°C.
