With today being exactly one year since the release of Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, it now stands to reason that Sony’s exclusivity will be expiring soon. As such, it would appear that the official website for the remake has undergone a little change that indicates that not only is the game headed to the Xbox Series, but potentially the Nintendo Switch 2.
Obviously, this is pure speculation at this point, as neither Bloober Team or Konami have made any official announcement.
Spotted by Reddit user PracticalSubstance99 on the Gaming Leaks And Rumours subreddit (thanks, Rely on Horror!), Bloober Team’s website for Silent Hill 2 now has two additional divisions that make up part of the code for the website’s front page, next to the PlayStation 5 and Steam logos. Those existing logos, of course, point to the respective store pages.
And it was no secret that Bloober Team was intending to bring their remake to the Xbox Series, but it would be a welcome surprise if the game came to the Switch 2, which would no doubt be a big score for Nintendo’s new handheld.
This all comes off of another piece of news involving Silent Hill 2 from French website Dealabs, which claims that the remake will be part of the PlayStation Plus Extra crop of games arriving on the service on October 21.
If that’s not enough, noted leaker Dusk Golem is back with another rumour, stating that Bloober Team will not only reveal the Xbox Series version of Silent Hill 2 soon, but also announce the PS5 Pro patch in conjunction with Born From a Wish DLC. According to Dusk Golem, the whole thing is Konami tying it around the window of the upcoming Return to Silent Hill film from Christophe Gans.
Again, none of this has been confirmed by Konami or Bloober Team. Still, timing is everything, as they say.
Meanwhile, Konami is enjoying their recent entry in the series, Silent Hill f, which released back on September 25 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam.
