‘The Witcher’ Season 4 Trailer – Hope Is Reborn with Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia

Liam Hemsworth officially wields the sword of Geralt of Rivia, taking over the role from Henry Cavill, in the trailer for “The Witcher” Season 4.

Based on the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, the fantasy show returns October 30 on Netflix.

After the Continent-altering events of Season 3, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…

Hemsworth stars with Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Meng’er Zhang, Eamon Farren, and Laurence Fishburne.

“I was such a big fan of this character, so it was a bit of those pinch-yourself moments of walking around in this costume,” Hemsworth tells Netflix. “We pick up Geralt having just left Brokilon, he’s with Milva and Jaskier, and his main driving force is to get to Ciri and make sure that she’s safe.”

“I was just really excited to be a part of this world,” adds Fishburne, who joins the series as the mysterious barber-surgeon Regis. “I’m a big fan of fantasy and science fiction, and when they asked me to join them, I was like, ‘Oh, this is interesting.’ This is something I’ve always wished to be able to do, and now I’m getting an opportunity to do it.”

Anna Shaffer, Mimî M Khayisa, Cassie Clare, Mahesh Jada, Graham McTavish, Royce Pierreson, Mecia Simson, Sharlto Copley, Danny Woodburn, Jeremy Crawford, Bart Edwards, Hugh Skinner, James Purefoy, Christelle Elwin, Fabian McCallum, Juliette Alexandra, Ben Radcliffe, Connor Crawford, Aggy K. Adams, Linden Porco, Therica Wilson-Read, Rochelle Rose, and Safiyya Ingar round out the cast.

Sergio Mimica-Gezzan, Tricia Brock, Alex Garcia Lopez, and Jeremy Webb each direct two of Season 4’s eight episodes.

Creator/showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich writes alongside Tania Lotia, Rae Benjamin, Troy Dangerfield, Matthew D’Ambrosio, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Clare Higgins, and Mike Ostrowski.

“One of the things we always say is that it wouldn’t be ‘The Witcher’ if everything ended happily,” Schmidt Hissrich reminds Netflix.
