Guillermo del Toro Is Showing ‘Frankenstein’ in IMAX on Halloween in Los Angeles

Want to spend Halloween with Guillermo del Toro?

The Academy Award winner will screen his new take on Frankenstein  in IMAX followed by a Q&A at the TCL Chinese Theater in Los Angeles on October 31.

Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite del Toro character.

Dol Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley‘s genre-defining 1818 novel opens in select theaters on October 17 before streaming on Netflix November 7.

The film stars Oscar Isaac (Dune) as Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi (Saltburn) as Frankenstein’s monster, Mia Goth (MaXXXine) as Elizabeth Lavenza, and Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) as Dr. Pretorius.

Brilliant but egotistical scientist Victor Frankenstein brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.

Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen (“Ahsoka”), David Bradley (Harry Potter), Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), and Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”) round out the cast.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “There’s no question that Frankenstein is absolutely breathtaking, with imagery and set pieces that instantly embed themselves in your memory. It showcases del Toro’s strength as a filmmaker, creating immersive worlds that enhance what he does best: championing monsters and their tragic humanity instead of using them to scare us.
