The official Strangeland novelization will be published on October 22 via Echo On Publications.
Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, who wrote and stared in the 1998 horror film, co-authored the book with Christian Francis, writer of such novelizations as Wishmaster, Session 9, and In the Mouth of Madness.
In a world where the internet is still new, Captain Howdy lurks in the shadows. He preys on teenagers in online chat rooms, luring them into his web of nightmares. What starts as an innocent conversation quickly becomes a fight for survival.
When detective Mike Gage’s daughter disappears, he finds himself in a race against time to find her before it’s too late. But Captain Howdy isn’t just another criminal… he’s something much worse.
The 248-page novel is said to dive deeper into the psychological horror and sadistic mind games that made the film so unsettling.
Directed by John Pieplow, Strangeland also starred Linda Cardellini, Kevin Gage, Elizabeth Peña, Brett Harrelson, and Robert Englund.
