Strange Scaffold and Frosty Pop’s Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking has received a new update in the form of Versus Mode, adding a competitive twist to the game’s otherwise cooperative experience. The game is also having a generous 40% discount on now during the Steam Autumn Sale.
As the name implies, the new mode splits players into rival teams, each racing to be the first to satisfy their own kaiju’s ravenous hunger. Players explore the larder at their own risk, scavenging resources quicker than their opponents. Those clever enough can also strategize with their allies and terrorize the other team to win the feeding frenzy.
The new mode arrives after Strange Scaffold launched the game’s Endless Mode last month, where players try to score as many points as possible and enter larder levels at random, feeding monsters catapult-style and avoiding large rats and monsters.
First released in July, Co-op Kaiju Horror Cooking is a chaotic multiplayer game where players catapult improvised meals into the maws of rampaging monsters to prevent the apocalypse. The absurdist horror game has players take on the role of medieval monks — the only chefs who can prevent the apocalypse. Feed enormous monsters with a catapult, evade supernatural enemies, and navigate a reality-bending labyrinth with up to four players (or more, if you want to risk your computers/sanity) before time runs out.
