New Trailers and Reveals Galore During The Horror Game Awards Halloween Showcase 2025 [Video]

The Horror Game Awards kicked off the Halloween season with a brand new showcase, delivering new trailers and reveals for in-development and brand new horror games. Clocking in at nearly 3 hours of over 100 titles, to say that there was a lot to take in was an understatement. So, we’ve highlighted some of the titles during the showcase for those wanting a cursory glance. If, however, you want the full Monty, you can watch the entire stream below.

And don’t forget to check out The Horror Game Awards Halloween Showcase Steam sale that’s on now on until October 6.

3D Realms and Saber Interactive’s Painkiller (which is due out October 21) released a new gameplay trailer, highlighting the game’s fast-paced co-op action. Up to three people can team up to square off against the demon hordes, playing as one of four distinctive characters. Painkiller will arrive for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.

MOON CATALYST’s Psycho Dead sees players play as Elixia, a mysterious girl with unique psychic powers who tries to escape from a secret lab. Naturally, she’s pursued by monstrous creatures. Not only will you have to escape, but you’ll also uncover the truth behind what’s gone on in the lab. Along with the usual Survival Horror mechanics, you’ll also wield a variety of psychic abilities, such as telekinesis to manipulate and hurl objects at high speed, cause enemies to implode under immense pressure, and create barriers to block and counter attacks. Psycho Dead is currently in development for PlayStation 5 and Steam, with the latter now having a demo available for you to check out.

Lovecraftian horror fans got some love with Alessandro Guzzo‘s Cosmic Fear, announcing a new demo available on Steam. Making an appearance after this year’s Horror Game Awards Summer Showcase, Cosmic Fear has players living their worst nightmares in the darkness of the forests, ancient castles and seemingly abandoned villages as they seek to uncover secrets that torment their soul.

Currently in development for release on Steam, M3at Bicycle’s third-person action horror title CONTAMINANT is set in an alternate post-Soviet reality. As Maria, you are trapped in your grandfather’s factory, where you’ll uncover secrets of your family through brutal combat, twisted puzzles, and “surreal realms of abominations.” Enter a world where reality bends, silence whispers, and every shadow hides a secret. Curiosity is your only guide, but don’t expect all doors to lead back.

After Lights Out is a first person psychological horror game being developed by POQI STUDIO. Slated for release on Steam, the game sees players wake up in an unfamiliar room with fragmented memories, including your own identity. You seem to be a journalist investigating a missing persons case. Everything in the room feels both alien and eerily familiar. Light plays a big role in the game, as the environment shifts dynamically with changes in lighting. Use this to reveal hidden secrets. However, danger may lurk the moment the lights go out…

314 Arts is delivering your dose of WWII horror with Projekt Z: Beyond Order. In this FPS, you’ll be dealing with the undead as one of four survivors in fast-paced missions, each with their own unique abilities and role in the game’s co-op. Build and customize an array of weapons while also scavenging for supplies and blueprints to upgrade your weapons. You’ll be able to find refuge in your secret hideout, which you can also upgrade. Look for Projekt Z on Steam, PlayStation 5, and the Xbox Series.

Calling back to last year’s Crow Country, Pappy’s Pipe Dream ‘s Echograph is an upcoming throwback title to classic Survival Horror. You play as Layla, the sole survivor of a night that claimed her entire family. Years later, she returns to her decaying family manor to uncover what really happened – and why she was the only one who lived. Along with the usual Survival Horror tropes, Echograph takes a cue from Fatal Frame, where you will use a camera to capture vengeful ghosts on film. Look for the game on Steam.

Initially revealed back in July, Anthony David VallesPulsebreaker showed up with a new gameplay trailer. Details on the game are still forthcoming, but Pulsebreaker has you battling zombies after a citywide outbreak. You’ll also be getting up close and personal with zombies, thanks to its fixed camera, cramped corridors and urban environments.

Blumhouse Games also dropped by to show off its current titles in Fear the Spotlight and Eyes of Hellfire, as well as announcing demos for in-development titles Crisol: Theater of Idols and SLEEP AWAKE.

Polygon Crypt’s upcoming sci-fi horror title Ghost Sector unveiled a new trailer during the showcase, showing off more of the game’s atmosphere and low-fi graphics. The devteam also announced that the game will be receiving a demo just in time for Halloween, so keep an eye out for that on the game’s Steam page.
