To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Tetsudou Musume (Railway Girls) project, which sees the personification of various train-related jobs as anime girls, an original TV anime will be broadcast in 2026. Announced via the official anime website, the Tetsuryo meet with Tetsudou Musume series will focus on four girls traveling around Japan and meeting with various Tetsudou Musume. The first teaser trailer was released, along with a teaser visual, the lead staff, and short details on the series. Tetsuryo meet with Tetsudou Musume Teaser Trailer and Visual Takara Tomy's subsidiary, Tomytec, launched the Tetsudou Musume project in 2005. It features over 100 girls in train-related jobs wearing the uniforms of real-life train companies from around Japan. The girls' names are derived from stations, trains, and other facilities along train networks. The characters are released as figures and other goods along train lines as promotion and revitalization. A TV drama called Tetsudo Musume ~Girls be ambitious!, based on the railway girls, was broadcast in 2008. AKB48's Sae Miyazawa and Tomomi Kasai were part of a cast of seven workers. Tetsuryo meet with Tetsudou Musume is directed by Misuzu Hoshino ( Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable! ) at EAST FISH STUDIO lnc. with series composition and scripts written by Aya Satsuki ( Solo Camping for Two ) and character designs from Naofumi Hashimoto ( Laid-Back Camp season 3). The series focuses on four university students who are part of the Train Travel Club (known as Tetsuryo), who spend their youth traveling around Japan and see the excitement in the life of a woman who works in the railways and are known as Tetsudou Musume.
