Netflix will officially be welcoming guests back to “Haunted Hotel“; the animated series has received a season two renewal.
The season renewal announcement arrives after the first season launched last week on Netflix and landed on the Global English TV Top 10 list.
Created by showrunner Matt Roller (“Rick and Morty,” “Community”) and produced by Titmouse (“Big Mouth,” “The Venture Bros”), the 10-episode “Haunted Hotel“ first season followed a single mother of two as she struggles to run a haunted hotel with the help of her estranged brother, who is now one of the ghosts haunting the hotel and thinks the other ghosts have some pretty good ideas.
Will Forte (“Sweet Tooth”), Eliza Coupe (“Future Man”), Skyler Gisondo (The Quarry, “Santa Clarita Diet”), Natalie Palamides (“The Powerpuff Girls”), and Jimmi Simpson (“Westworld”, “Black Mirror”) lead the voice cast.
Roller serves as showrunner with Erica Hayes (“Rick and Morty,” “Carol & the End of the World”) as supervising director. Roller executive produces alongside Chris McKenna (Spider-Man: No Way Home, “Community”), Dan Harmon (“Rick and Morty,” “Community”), and Steve Levy (“Rick and Morty,” “Community”).
Daniel Kurland wrote in his season one review, “It’s fun, clever, original, and isn’t afraid to showcase its more tender side, but it’s also not reinventing the wheel or pushing the medium to unprecedented places. It’s just a well-made animated horror comedy with a refreshing perspective on grief.”
