Supernatural film Deemak is expanding its theatrical rollout globally after becoming Pakistan’s highest-grossing horror movie, Variety reports today.
The film will open in the US, UK, and EU countries and Canada on October 17, 2025.
Deemak has become an unprecendented hit in native country Pakistan, amassing PKR17.5 crore ($620,000) at the Pakistani box office and becoming the highest-grossing horror movie.
Directed by Rafay Rashdi and written by Ayesha Muzaffar, it follows the “relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in-law against a backdrop of escalating paranormal disturbances in a family home.”
Faysal Quraishi, Sonya Hussyn, Samina Peerzada, Javed Sheikh, and Bushra Ansari star in Deemak.
“This is a defining moment for Pakistani cinema,” director Rafay Rashdi said. “‘Deemak’ has not only broken records at home but also proven that local stories have the power to surpass Hollywood and Bollywood titles in our market. We are excited to now bring this story to international audiences who, we believe, will connect with its emotional and cultural depth as much as its scares.”
Look for Deemak to arrive next month.
