Frictional Games’ SOMA hits its 10th anniversary this week, and to celebrate, Switch and Switch 2 owners will not only be able to grab a physical edition of SOMA, but also snag the exclusive 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition, courtesy of Abylight Studios. Only available through Kickstarter, this limited edition set is chock full of extras for fans of the psychological horror hit.
Originally released on PC via Steam back in 2015 (and released digitally back in July for the Switch), SOMA will arrive on Nintendo’s consoles in a “complete and optimized” version. Along with the physical game on cart (with the Switch 2 version having improved resolution, more stable refresh rate, better textures, higher detail level and reduced loading times), fans will be able to get the following in the 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition:
- Reversible Cover with alternate artwork.
- Original Art Book. An exclusive 88-page color artbook (255×170 mm). Uncover the original concept art and models that helped create the terrifying world of SOMA.
- Omnitool Keychain. A metallic miniature model of the device used in the game. Size: 34.6 x 60 mm with 5 enamel colors and printed screen.
- Soundtrack CD. Featuring 24 themes from the game composed by Mikko Tarmia. Digipak exclusive cover.
- Sticker Sheet. A 210×148 mm sticker sheet featuring characters, logos, and equipment from the game.
- Collector’s Box. The whole set is encased in an exclusive 10th Anniversary special collector’s box.
As mentioned, this SOMA 10th Anniversary Collector’s Edition will only be available for a limted time on Kickstarter. No more units will be printed after this campaign. Depending on funding goals for the campaign, this edition will potentially include further upgrades, such as a hardcover book, a deluxe box, and an additional gift. If you’re just in the market for the physical release, a regular physical edition of SOMA for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 will be produced, which you can also pre-order through the Kickstarter page. Along with PC and the Switch, SOMA is also available for the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One.
