Comedians including Jordan Peele, Danny McBride, Pete Davidson, and Zach Cregger have recently made their mark on the horror genre, and the duo behind “Tim and Eric Awesome Show” have announced that they’re making a horror movie of their own!
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are writing a horror script, Variety reports, which Heidecker revealed at the premiere of Justin Tipping’s just-released movie HIM. Heidecker has a role in HIM, which brings him back to the horror genre after appearing in Jordan Peele’s Us.
Heidecker announced, “We’re actually writing a horror movie that is going to be much sicker than most people are going to want to watch.”
“We’ll see if it gets made,” the actor/comedian added.
Tim Heidecker also noted on the HIM red carpet last week (thanks again to Variety for the quotes), “I’m not a big horror fanatic, but when they’re really well done and when they have a message or they have something to say, I always appreciate that.”
Stay tuned for more on the Tim & Eric horror movie project as we learn it. The duo previously dipped their toes into the genre with Adult Swim’s “Tim & Eric’s Bedtime Stories,” which ran from 2013 to 2017. The anthology series was a spinoff from the aforementioned “Tim and Eric Awesome Show,” allowing Tim & Eric to explore “different genres and different tropes.”
