Beware Satan. Magnolia Pictures has released a new teaser trailer for the mysterious movie The Carpenter’s Son this morning, which is said to put a horror spin on Jesus’ childhood.
What exactly does that mean? We’ll find out in Fall 2025.

Nicolas Cage, FKA twigs, and Noah Jupe star. The Carpenter’s Son was officially rated “R” earlier this month for “strong/bloody violent content, and brief nudity.”
Inspired by the apocryphal Infancy Gospel of Thomas, the film tells the dark story of a family hiding out in Roman Egypt. “Known only as ‘the Boy’, the son is driven to doubt by another mysterious child and rebels against his guardian, the Carpenter, revealing inherent powers and a fate beyond his comprehension. As he exercises his own power, the Boy and his family become the target of horrors both natural and divine.”
Nicolas Cage will play the titular Carpenter, with FKA twigs as Mother and A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place II’s Noah Jupe as the Boy. Isla Johnston (“Invasion”) also stars.
The genre-bending horror film is written and directed by Lotfy Nathan.
