Ahead of the release of Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc tomorrow in Japan, Sony Music announced today that Kenshi Yonezu’s opening theme song for the Chainsaw Man TV anime “KICK BACK” has been officially certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America, making it the first Japanese-language song to reach the milestone. Yonezu released a video comment, with English subtitles, to say how much “fun” it was to make the song and thank fans for the love. The film will be released in Japan on September 19 and internationally starting September 24. Sony Pictures will release the film in the United States on October 29. Crunchyroll currently streams the Chainsaw Man anime series and describes the story: Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed.
