Musical group ClariS has long been associated with the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series, having provided multiple theme songs for its various installments. With a new film on the horizon and the first two films getting a series-formatted TV release, that bond between performers and series is being made official: ClariS has been named the magical girl franchise's first "Links Partner." Links Partners are musicians who connect the long-running series through music. Continuing this role, the group will be performing themes for both the upcoming film Walpurgisnacht Rising and the Beginnings/Eternal TV editions announced last month. More details on these new songs will be announced at a later date. "Links" is inspired by Puella Magi Madoka Magica as a whole, while "Connect -season 03-" will be a self-cover of the original Madoka Magica opening theme song. "Connect" has also become one of the group's most famous songs in the years since its release. Whether these new tracks will have anything to do with the upcoming film and TV releases, or whether they will stand alone, is currently unknown. All the staff from Rebellion return at SHAFT for the Walpurgisnacht Rising feature; with Akiyuki Shimbo as the chief director, Yukihiro Miyamoto directing the film, Nitroplus's Gen Urobuchi writing the script, aokiume designing the characters with Junichiro Taniguchi taking those designs and making them fit for animation. Yuki Kajiura is the composer on the film, and Gekidan Inu Curry returns to design the Witches' Spaces. The original cast is also set to reprise their roles from the third film and Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story spin-off series.
