Aya Games has announced that its surreal narrative platformer adventure, Ayasa: Shadow of Silence, has a release date of September 25 for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, with releases on consoles planned for a later date. The previously-released demo is still available on both platforms.
A dialogue-free dark tale told through pantomime, imagery, and Komitas-inspired music, Ayasa: Shadow of Silence “draws on the philosophical worlds of French animator and screenwriter René Laloux , the metamorphic allegories of Robert Sahakyants, the poetic fairy-tale touch of Hayao Miyazaki, and the dark surreal visual language of Tim Burton.”
Players follow Ayasa, a girl traversing fractured lands where Love, Faith, and Hope clash with Greed, Betrayal, and Indifference. Each surreal realm embodies a moral force—both light and shadow—challenging players to decide whether Ayasa’s path will lead to redemption and balance, or a fall into tyranny.
Ayasa: Shadow of Silence blends atmospheric traversal, puzzle-solving, and survival sequences. To survive, players will need to harness Ayasa’s abilities—time manipulation, invisibility, and energy control—while navigating perilous environments and uncovering the story without a single spoken word.
“This is not just a story about war, it is a poetic journey through conscience, where the greatest battle lies within,” said Edgar Janoyan, CEO of Aya Games. “We wanted to create an experience without words, where music, imagery, and play itself tell the story.”
