Manga readers and anime viewers alike are falling in love with The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity . Saka Mikami's romance manga recently surpassed 7.5 million copies in circulation — with 2 million of those copies added in the last two months alone! The series has had steady success since its debut. The first volume, released in March 2022, went into reprints almost immediately, moving 150% more units than expected. The sales have climbed continuously in the wake of the anime's production. Circulation was at 3.5 million when the anime adaptation was announced in September 2024, and climbed to 5.6 million by its premiere this past July. A representative from Kodansha calls the manga's success "unprecedented," rocketing up at a trajectory unseen for about 15 years. To meet fan demands, Kodansha has increased the manga's print run through October.
