The TV anime adaptation of period fantasy / romantic drama light novel series Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court unveiled a new piece of character art focusing on Lili , a lady-in-waiting in the service of Shu Keigetsu who is gradually won over by Kou Reirin's gentle personality after the body-swap takes place. The Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court light novels were originally published beginning in July 2020 on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. Ichijinsha releases the light novels under the Ichijinsha Novels imprint, with 10 volumes published in Japan since December 2020. Satsuki Nakamura writes and YukiKana illustrates the series. A manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji began in June 2021 in Monthly Comic Zero Sum , with eight volumes released in Japan to date. Mitsue Yamazaki directs the TV anime adaptation at animation studio Doga Kobo. Yoshiko Nakamura provides the series composition and Ai Kikuchi provides the character designs. A release date for the series has not been revealed at the time of this reporting.
