Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has received a “PG-13” rating from the MPA for “violent content, terror and some language.”
For context, the first movie earned the same rating for “strong violent content, bloody images and language” in 2023.
Based on the wildly popular video game series, the sequel hits theaters on December 5 from Universal and Blumhouse.

But when Abby sneaks out to reconnect with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy, it will set into motion a terrifying series of events, revealing dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s, and unleashing a long-forgotten horror hidden away for decades.
Five Nights at Freddy’s creator Scott Cawthon returns to pen the script, with Emma Tammi back in the director’s chair.
Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Piper Rubio, Theodus Crane, and Matthew Lillard reprise their roles from the first film, joined by Freddy Carter (“Shadow and Bone”), Wayne Knight (Jurassic Park), Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), and Skeet Ulrich (Scream).
Jim Henson’s Creature Shop returned to design animatronics for the film.
