More fantasy isekai adventures are on the horizon as The World's Strongest Rearguard: Labyrinth Country's Novice Seeker announces an anime adaptation. The light novel series by Toowa launched on the Shosetsuka ni Naro web novel platform in April 2017, and was picked up for publication by Fujimi Shobo in November of the same year. At present, the series has eight volumes in print and has a circulation of over 1.7 million copies. A manga adaptation illustrated by Rikizo began in 2018 and currently runs in ComicWalker. Yen Press publishes English-language versions of both the light novel and its manga adaptation, describing the former thus: Corporate slave Arihito Atobe’s death in a freak bus accident marks the beginning of his new life as a kind of adventurer called a Seeker.
