Perfume Performs To Your Eternity Season 3 Anime Theme Song

The official website the To Your Eternity TV anime series announced today that three-member techno pop unit Perfume performs "Fumetsu no Anata" ("You who are immortal"), the theme song for its upcoming third season, the Present World arc. As fans of the work, they readily accepted the offer. The song was newly written, composed, and arranged by Perfume's long-time sound producer, Yasutaka Nakata. The unit's three members shared the following comments on the song: A-chan: We had all read the original manga and watched the anime, so when we received the offer, we immediately agreed. I think it turned out to be a really good song! With philosophical themes, "To Your Eternity" repeats the cycle of life and death many times, but what resonates in my heart is the strength of human beings to overcome sadness and pain. The theme song also feels like our voices stand out more than usual, as if we are singing at the top of our voices… That's how I feel. I'm really looking forward to Season 3. Kashiyuka: I cry every time I read the manga… The opening video for Season 3 was like a flashback, and I couldn't help but think about the memories Fushi had built up with his friends, and I started crying. I was happy that the song we sang fit so well with the world of "To Your Eternity." I'm really looking forward to seeing what will happen to Fushi. But I love him so much that I'm worried (laughs). Nocchi: I became hooked on "To Your Eternity" after watching the manga and anime, and recommended it to the other members. It was a work that I felt strongly about, so when I heard that the song title was "Fumetsu no Anata," I was very honored to sing it! In Season 3, set in the present world, there should be no battles with enemies like before, and it should be peaceful, but it seems that Fushi and the others have different worries… But I want Fushi to smile as much as possible. Drive and STUDIO MASSKET produce the animation. Crunchyroll currently streams the previous two seasons in both sub and dub, and describes the overall series: In the beginning, an "orb" is cast unto Earth. "It" can do two things: change into the form of the thing that stimulates "it"; and come back to life after death. "It" morphs from orb to rock, then to wolf, and finally to boy, but roams about like a newborn who knows nothing. As a boy, "it" becomes Fushi. Through encounters with human kindness, Fushi not only gains survival skills, but grows as a "person". But his journey is darkened by the inexplicable and destructive enemy Nokker, as well as cruel partings with the people he loves.
