The TV anime adaptation of period fantasy / romantic drama light novel series Though I Am an Inept Villainess: Tale of the Butterfly-Rat Body Swap in the Maiden Court published a new piece of character artwork today featuring the main characters, Kou Reirin and Shu Keigetsu, as they appear after swapping bodies. Ichijinsha releases the light novels under the Ichijinsha Novels imprint, with 10 volumes published in Japan since December 2020. A manga adaptation by Ei Ohitsuji began in June 2021 in Monthly Comic Zero Sum , with eight volumes released in Japan to date. Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the English language version of the series as well as the manga adaptation with artwork by Ei Ohitsuji. Mitsue Yamazaki directs the TV anime adaptation at animation studio Doga Kobo. Yoshiko Nakamura provides the series composition and Ai Kikuchi provides the character designs. A release date for the series has not been revealed at the time of this reporting.
