To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the TV anime Dirty Pair since its TV broadcast in Japan on July 15, 1985, a memorial exhibition, titled "TV Anime 'Dirty Pair' 40th Anniversary Exhibition," is scheduled to be be held at Kitasenju Marui's event space (7F) in Tokyo from October 10 to November 3, 2025. A key visual for the exhibition, newly-drawn by the anime series' original character designer, Tsukasa Dokite, has been revealed. Based on Haruka Takachiho's long-running sci-fi action novel series, the Dirty Pair TV anime aired for 24 episodes from July to December 1985. The last two episodes that were not aired during the initial broadcast in Japan, episodes 25 and 26, were later released as an OVA. After the TV broadcast ended, OVAs, a theatrical film, and a new TV series Dirt Pair FLASH by a different character designer (Takahiro Kimura) were released from 1985 to 1996. All of the anime adaptations were produced by Sunrise, which also worked on the anime feature film and OVAs based on Takachiho's another popular sci-fi series, Crusher Joe , from 1983 to 1989. The exhibition will feature rare production materials and other items from the Dirty Pair and Dirty Pair FLASH anime series, including planning documents, rough drawings, settings, and original anime drawings from the time. Also on display for the first time will be the certificate for the Seiun Award, which the original novel won in 1980, as well as a supplementary prize. During the event period, 40th anniversary commemorative items will be on sale at the venue. Tickets will be available on ePlus from July 18 at 10:00 a.m. (JST).
