Fate Rewinder Manga Gets TV Anime From Rie Matsumoto and Bones Film

For the first time since Blood Blockade Battlefront season one in 2015, acclaimed anime director Rie Matsumoto will be teaming up with the team at anime studio BONES, flying under their new Bones Film banner, to adapt Futa Kimura’s Fate Rewinder into a TV anime. To celebrate the news, a super teaser trailer and visual have been released featuring the main character, Chrono. Fate Rewinder Anime Super Teaser Trailer and Visual RELATED: Rie Matsumoto Directs Pokémon Music Video 'Gotcha!' for BUMP OF CHICKEN and Bones Fate Rewinder is directed by Rie Matsumoto at Bones Film with the staff from Blood Blockade Battlefront and the “GOTCHA!” Pokémon music video returning, though the full staff list has not been confirmed. Story Inc., which produces Makoto Shinkai’s films, will be producing  Fate Rewinder  as its first anime series. The premiere date for the series also has not been announced at this stage. The original manga, created by Futa Kimura , launched in  Monthly Coro-Coro Comic  on January 15, 2022. Nine collected volumes have been published in Japan.  The series follows Chrono, a 14-year-old boy who is a member of the Space-Time Police Special Forces Unit called a “Rewinder.” The organization uses its “Retry Eye” to save people who have already died, using future knowledge to repeatedly go back in time to get to a future where the victim is alive and well.
