YOASOBI's Frieren: Beyond Journey's End Anime Opening Song Surpasses 300 Million Streams

The two-member Japanese musical unit YOASOBI 's "Yusha" ( The Brave ), the first cour opening theme song for the Frieren: Beyond Journey's End TV anime, had surpassed 300 million streams according to the latest Billboard JAPAN charts for the week of June 9 – 15. "Yusha" was based on a newly-written novel by Kanehito Yamada, the story writer of the original Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga series, and expresses the somewhat lonely and melancholy atmosphere depicted in the work, as well as the changing emotions of the protagonist Frieren, evoking a new beginning for the story. The song was released digitally first from Sony Music Entertainment on September 29, 2023. According to Billboard Japan , the song reached 100 million streams in January 2024, which means the song has streamed 200 million times in the latest 17 months. YOASOBI's official YouTube channel started streaming a music video for "Yusha" on September 29, 2023, and reached 10 million views just in 12 days. The video's cumulative total viewing number has reached 174 million as of this reporting.
