‘Toxic Crusaders’ Gets a New Gameplay Trailer, Will Now Launch Q3 2025 [Watch]

Retroware’s Toxic Crusaders made an appearance during the MIX Summer Games Showcase with a brand new gameplay trailer, as well as more content reveal for the game. Unfortunately, that Q2 2025 release window has been pushed back to Q3 2025, but you know how the saying goes when it comes to waiting.

As you might already know, you can play as all the members of the original Toxic Crusaders gang, including Toxie, Nozone, Junkyard, Major Disaster, and Headbanger, along with Toxie’s girlfriend, Yvonne, and even Toxie’s mom, Mrs. Junko. There’s also the Tag Out System, where players will be able to switch between different Crusaders when its corresponding meter is full.

There will also be new level environments inspired from Troma films, such as Class of Nuke ‘Em High and Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead. The game will also feature new bosses, and not just the expected Dr. Killemoff and other characters from the original Toxic Crusaders cartoon. Expect appearances from those hailing from other Troma films.

The game’s soundtrack will be composed by PSYCHOSTICK, which according to the band, is the largest project they’ve ever worked on, containing about three albums worth of music. And for you physical collectors out there, there will be physical editions of the game distributed by Limited Run Games.

Toxic Crusaders will arrive on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and the Nintendo Switch. You can check out the demo on Steam right now.
