Asobo Studio and Focus Entertainment have announced a new entry in the acclaimed A Plague Tale series with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. Revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase, the prequel is set 15 years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem, featuring “an original story blending combat, myth and fate.”
Resonance sees players step into the boots of Sophia, a fierce young plunderer, on the run but determined to uncover the secrets of her past. Sophia’s journey leads to the Minotaur’s Island, where she faces deadly trials, navigates treacherous trails, and solves puzzles, all while fighting and staying one step ahead of the army chasing her. But the true challenge awaits, as the terrifying creature hidden behind the myth will soon reveal itself. As you journey deeper into the island’s heart, you’ll confront the truth behind a long-buried curse.
Followed by many enemies, each drawn to the island to reclaim a mysterious treasure, you must navigate a treacherous maze. You’ll need to rely on your agility, tricks and sharp reflexes to outsmart enemies, perfect your parries, and unleash powerful strikes to survive deadly encounters. You’ll also make use of a stolen Minoan sphere to solve ingenious puzzles by manipulating light – a force woven by Daedalus into the island’s very heart.
“We wanted to expand and explore the world of A Plague Tale with a character – Sophia – that is very close to our heart, but within a much more action-oriented experience,” said David Dedeine, Chief Creative Officer at Asobo Studio. “This fresh approach comes with intuitive and rewarding combats, as well as a brand-new manifestation of the Macula, the ancient evil. Resonance embraces themes, places and eras that we had never explored before. Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is currently in development for the Xbox Series, Day One with Xbox Game Pass, as well as PlayStation 5 and Steam.
