On the eve of the opening of Annecy’s market, the next anime project from the pen of Sonny Boy writer and director Shingo Natsume was announced today with a star-studded creative team behind the project. Under the working title “ ghost ,” the lead staff were announced alongside a teaser poster, two teaser images (one above and one below), and a 2027 release window. ghost (working title) Teaser Poster ghost (working title) follows the young girl Nike, who fights against the world's injustices to protect the starry night sky. The film set out to do this while portraying the complexities of her emotions and show her loneliness and bravery through her interactions with others. Natsume wishes to “blend animation with reality that reflects the current era.” RELATED: Tatami Time Machine Blues Anime Shows Off Its Unique Style in Opening Video Shingo Natsume, who has also directed One-Punch Man season one and ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. , both writes and directs ghost (working title) at MADHOUSE, based on an original story that he, Tomohiro Suzuki ( ACCA: 13-Territory Inspection Dept. ), Bandai Namco Filmworks and MADHOUSE are credited for. ACCA 13 manga creator Natsume Ono created the original character designs with Norifumi Kugai ( ACCA 13 , Sonny Boy ) adapting them for animation. ghost (working title) is scheduled to be released in 2027.
