Aichi Prefecture announced on June 2 that the Aichi Nagoya International Animation Film Festival (ANIAAFF) , the first international animation film festival in the prefecture, will be held in December 2025. Aichi Prefecture has a deep connection with animation culture through Ghibli Park and the "World Cosplay Summit" event, and is making efforts to utilize animation to revitalize the local community. As the host prefecture, Aichi Prefecture will support the festival and, as a member of the executive committee, will be involved in publicity activities and other activities to promote the festival. The festival will be held for six days from December 12 to 17, 2025 at the Midland Square Cinema theater and the 109 Cinemas Nagoya theater near Nagoya Station. The event will include screenings of animation films (competition award nominees, invited films, etc.), keynote speeches, talk sessions, award ceremonies and other events. The festival's International Competition Section is open to animated feature films of 40 minutes or longer completed after January 2024. Each award will be determined from entries from Japan and abroad. Entries will be accepted from 6:00 p.m. on June 11 (JST).
