Don’t let the language barrier stop you, as French developer/publisher Studio Richoux looks to have something eerie cooking with their upcoming isometric Survival Horror title, The Funskin Project. Currently in development for a 2026 release, The Funskin Project was unveiled at the recent AG French Direct showcase, and the reveal trailer definitely gets the game’s creepy atmosphere across to players.
The story is scant on details at the moment, but the basics has you caught in the middle of a snowstorm. As a result, you must continue your journey through the castle of the mysterious Baron Fetuccini. As these things go, once you step into the castle, you end up in a nightmarish labyrinth from which there’s seemingly no escape.
However, you’re not the only one trapped here. As such, you’ll need other characters’ help in order to escape, provided you can assist them with their own troubles. Doing so will help you unlock the secrets behind the mysterious Funskin project.
The Funskin Project features nonlinear environments to explore, as well as its fair share of puzzles and riddles for you to solve. You’ll also be having to do the familiar Survival Horror trope of inventory management, where even the slightest encounter can be fatal.
Time is also not on your side. When night falls, more dangerous threats come out to play, and you’d better be prepared in order to survive.
