5 Centimeters Per Second Live-Action Film Premieres on October 10

Upcoming anime to live-action film adaptation 5 Centimeters Per Second unveiled a new teaser image today along with the film's theatrical release date: the movie begins its theatrical run in Japan on October 10. Makoto Shinkai wrote, directed and produced the original 2007 5 Centimeters Per Second anime at CoMix Wave Films. Yoshiyuki Okuyama directs the live-action film version based on a script by Fumiko Suzuki at production company Spoon., while Toho distributes the live-action film. Actor Hokuto Matsumura stars in the leading role as Takaki Tono . The official CoMix Wave Films page describes the story as follows: After transferring to the same elementary school, Takaki and Akari became best friends.However, their lives change when the families of both are forced to relocate. After a year of separation,Takaki is about to reunite with Akari. As he sits on the train from Tokyo, memories of the past rush through Takaki's head, his meeting time with Akari drawing ever closer.
