Upcoming anime to live-action film adaptation 5 Centimeters Per Second unveiled a new teaser image today along with the film's theatrical release date: the movie begins its theatrical run in Japan on October 10. Makoto Shinkai wrote, directed and produced the original 2007 5 Centimeters Per Second anime at CoMix Wave Films. Yoshiyuki Okuyama directs the live-action film version based on a script by Fumiko Suzuki at production company Spoon., while Toho distributes the live-action film. Actor Hokuto Matsumura stars in the leading role as Takaki Tono .
