The antics of the Tendo Dojo go live next month! The returning voice cast of the new Ranma 1/2 anime will be live onstage in June in Japan for a live dubbing event, reprising their roles for a special night of must-see Ranma goodness. Confirmed cast to appear include: Kappei Yamaguchi (voice of boy-type Ranma) Megumi Hayashibara (voice of girl-type Ranma) Noriko Hidaka (voice of Akane) Rei Sakuma (voice of Shampoo) The website implies there are more voice actors yet to be announced. The official image for the event depicts Mousse, who has yet to appear in the modern adaptation of the series. Toshihiko Seki voiced the character in the original adaptation, though it has not yet been confirmed one way or the other whether he will be returning to the role. Visitors will also receive a free special booklet not available for sale outside the event. Ranma 1/2: Great Joyful Anime Presentation will take place June 22 at Shinkuku Wald 9. Shogakukan serialized the original Ranma 1/2 manga from August 1987 – March 1996 in their Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. VIZ Media also publishes an English-language version of the series . Konosuke Ueda directs the newest TV anime at animation studio MAPPA, with Kimiko Ueno providing the series composition, Hiromi Taniguchi on the character designs and Kaoru Wada on music. A second season is currently in production .
