Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Series Surpasses 20 Million Copies in Print

Japanese publisher SB Creative announced today that Fujino Omori's fantasy light novel series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? , which has been published from the publisher's GA Bunko imprint, has printed over 20 million copies in total. This is the first time in the 19-year history of the imprint that a series has reached a milestone of 20 million copies. As reported , the series hit the two million mark in April 2015, which means the number of copies of the series printed has increased tenfold in ten years. The author Omori said, "Amazing! Happy! Twenty million copies! That's how I feel! Thank you so much to the many people who have picked up the story of DanMachi!" The series' official X (formerly Twitter) also reported the news today. The original novel won the Grand Prize at the GA Bunko Grand Prix, a light novel newcomer award, and the first volume was published by GA Bunko in January 2013. Currently translated into a total of 11 languages, including English, Chinese, and Korean, it has been highly acclaimed both in Japan and abroad.
