Retro magical girl anime takes the stage next month! 1984's Persia, the Magic Fairy was one of Studio Pierrot's first magical girl series, alongside titles like Creamy Mami the Magic Angel and Pastel Yumi . This June, cast members will gather to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Persia in a one-night-only live event. The subtitle ( "zutto" Persia ga daisuki") is a play on the manga's original title, Persia ga Suki! Fans can look forward to appearances from Miina Tominaga (the voice of Persia) and Yuriko Fuchizaki (the voice of Kishin Shinokawa). The event will include live dubbing and a mini concert. It's all set to take place June 15 at Tokyo's Animate Theater. Persia, the Magic Fairy follows the adventures of Persia, an 11-year-old girl who grew up on the Serengeti. She possesses a magical golden headband given to her by the Fairy Queen of a realm known as the Lovely Dream. Using this headband, she can age up into a teenager and use magic.
