The Goodbye, Lara anime will go diving in the middle of this summer, as the series announced tonight that it will premiere in July. Alongside the reveal of the premiere month, the series also released its main trailer and unveiled two more cast members or the original anime that is based on Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid . Goodbye, Lara Anime Main Trailer Joining the splashy cast of Goodbye, Lara are: Grace voiced by Rika Fukami (Minako Aino/Sailor Venus in Sailor Moon ) Luca voiced by Ayumu Murase (Kazushige Sanda in SANDA ) Grace character visual Luca character visual Takushi Koide directs the series at animation studio Kinema Citrus, with character designs drawnby Shiori Tani, series composition written by Anna Kawahara and music composed by yuma yamaguchi. The series will broadcast in Japan in July 2026. Created to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Kinema Citrus, Goodbye, Lara re-imagines the story of The Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen with the setting updated to modern day Japan. The story follows Lara, a mermaid who became human to pursue the love of a human prince, only to fail and transform into sea foam.
