MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM HATHAWAY The Sorcery of Nymph Circe , the second of the three-part anime film adaptation of Yoshiyuki Tomino's Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash novel series, opened in 370 theaters (155 more than the first) in Japan on January 30 and earned 849 million yen (5.46 million USD) on 511,500 admissions, making a first-place debut in the weekend of January 30 – February 1, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha . The film finally knocked Zootopia 2 off the top spot, ending its eight-week reign at number one on Japan's weekend box office rankings. The three-day opening weekend gross was the second highest in the Gundam film series — 162% higher than Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway's Flash ( 523,943,800 yen / June 11-13, 2011) and 142% higher of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- ( 598,832,300 yen / January 17-19, 2025). After ranking 11th last weekend , Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc climbed back to seventh in its 20th weekend, bringing its total to 10.51 billion yen (67.57 million USD) in 136 days since its release on September 19, 2025, according to Oricon News .
