Favor Masamichi Yaga, the principal of Tokyo’s Jujutsu High School who once gave Yuji Itadori a second chance, is questioned about his creation of man-made cursed corpses that sustain themselves. Typically, wielders of Yaga’s technique power their puppets through their cursed energy. But Yaga’s progeny, like Panda, can somehow create their own. Yaga doesn’t reveal the secret, even while imprisoned by the higher-up sorcerers who are attempting to get the answer from him. Later, another creation of Yaga’s named Takeru tries to cheer him up. Yaga bids Takeru and the other cursed corpses farewell as he leaves for a long trip, reassuring them that they’ll be okay without him. Elsewhere, sorcerer Atsuya Kusakabe frees Panda, who was being held as bait. Kusakabe owes Yaga one, he says begrudgingly, and his thoughts turn to the past. Yaga once warned Kusakabe that while Takeru held the soul information of Kusakabe’s young nephew, it wasn’t him. Nevertheless, the boy’s grief-stricken mother was overwhelmed with joy when she recognized Takeru. Kusakabe’s voice shook as he thanked Yaga. Cursed Corpse Yaga walks alone that night, on his way to see his son. A sorcerer finds him and advises him to reveal his technique to save his own life. They’re interrupted by the chords of an electric guitar, the literal instrument for Yoshinobu Gakuganji’s cursed technique . Moments later, Yaga is fatally wounded, bleeding profusely as Gakuganji stands over him. The cursed corpses are created by using the body’s information to reproduce the soul’s information, Yaga reveals. The information is placed in a core. It takes three cores, each holding a compatible soul and observing each other, in one cursed corpse to make it self-aware. Gakuganji demands to know why he’s sharing the technique now when he could have spared his life. Yaga smiles as he says it’s a curse – from himself to Gakuganji. Panda finds Yaga and races toward him. Gakuganji prepares to fight, but Panda ignores him and kneels at Yaga’s side. He's too late; his father is gone. Gakuganji asks why he doesn’t attack him out of hatred. Panda quietly answers that pandas aren’t bound by things like that, but even pandas cry. The First Rule After Tengen tells Yuji and Megumi that Kinji Hakari is running a fight club in the Tochigi Prefecture, the pair goes to recruit him. Gachinko Fight Club sets up fistfights between sorcerers for non-sorcerer spectators inside a parking garage. Yuji and Megumi change out of their uniforms; since he was expelled, Hakari might run if he knows they’re from Jujutsu High. They walk into the garage and security immediately tells them to leave. As a camera watches their conversation, Megumi bluffs his way into getting Yuji entered in a fight that evening. The bouncer explains there are two rules: no running away and no cursed techniques, both enforced to keep the audience entertained. Yuji steps into the bright lights of the ring, where he sees his opponent… Panda! Yuji and Panda trade punches. They pretend to hit hard while they quickly whisper their plans. Impressed, Hakari sends for Yuji, intending to write him into a script for a staged fight. As for Megumi, Hakari will leave him to his companion Kirara Hoshi, a fellow third-year at Jujutsu High. Life is a Gamble Megumi and Panda meet up outside the parking garage after the fight. Panda knows where Hakari is, but Kirara’s cursed technique prevents him from getting close. Panda’s optimistic that Yuji’s personality is a good match for Hakari, but he and Megumi are a little concerned that Yuji is the actual worst liar. Kirara escorts Yuji to the roof, where Hakari waits inside the control room. The fight club bookie tests Yuji on his naivete, mildly impressed by his ability to spot a scam. He tells Yuji that passion drives both the swindler and their target with the possibility of changing their lives. Hakari loves that passion. Now that curses are public, he sees a bright future for his fight club, and he invites Yuji to be a part of his own passion. Hakari’s phone rings. He lets it go unanswered and makes small talk as he gets them drinks. He mentions Satoru Gojo can’t hold his alcohol, and Yuji casually asks who that is. Hakari looks at Yuji. All sorcerers know Gojo, he says, and he wants to know why Yuji feigned ignorance. Oh, and by the way, the ringing phone is a signal from Kirara. Hakari starts swinging. What has Yuji gotten himself into now? Stay tuned to JUJUTSU KAISEN to find out, right here on Crunchyroll!
